The landscape of the north is strewn with volcanic activity and geothermal activity which all alter the landscape in various ways. The north of Iceland also often has a very different climate to other parts of Iceland with much warmer summers and likewise much colder winters.
For years The Reykjavík Grapevine has worked on it's "Best Of Iceland" series where we highlight the best and brightest things to see and do across the country.
